The National Archives participated in the Saudi Arabian Embassy’s 86th National Day celebrations

In line with the “Year of Reading” initiative, the NA distributed a large number of its publications.

The National Archives participated in the Saudi Arabian Embassy's 86th National Day celebrations 


As part of its projects organized for the celebration of the initiative “2016: the Year of Reading”, launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, The National Archives of the United Arab Emirates has dedicated a large number of its distinct publication “Memories of the Arabian Peninsula: A Photographic Journey”,  to dignitaries and participants in the Saudi Arabian Embassy's celebrations marking the eighty sixth National day anniversary.

The book in question dedicates a section to each of the Arabian Peninsula countries, starting with the UAE, then the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Oman, and Qatar.


 As regards the UAE, the book included historical photos of some of its historic leaders, features of its mainland and marine life, its social and economic aspects, and its customs and traditions.  The book also records the religious status of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its role as an important trading and political center since ancient times, and its development into a modern state. The photos in this section documented the history of the holy places, important religious and political events, customs and traditions, and models of ancient architecture.



This came in the course of the National Archives participation in the celebrations held by the Saudi embassy in Abu Dhabi, and also included a photo exhibition which confirms the strength of the fraternal and historical relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The National Archives distributed to participants its publications that highlight the historical brotherly relations between the Arab people of the Gulf region. The National Archives' participation in such a national occasion highlights its role in documenting the events relating to the unity of the peoples of the region, and the aspirations of the UAE and the Gulf societies.

The Photos in the National Archives exhibition documented a large number of meetings between the leaderships of both countries. H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Bishr, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in the UAE, visited the exhibition, and highly appreciated the National Archives participation in this national occasion, and considered visiting the National Archives exhibition and its valuable publications as an opportunity for visitors to acquaint themselves with the bright chapter of deep fraternal historic relations between the two countries, and the development and growth of these relations in various fields by virtue of the sound guidance of the wise leaderships of t
