National Archives and Dubai Expo 2020 Discuss Strengthening Cooperation
The National Archives of the United Arab Emirates received at its headquarters a delegation representing Dubai Expo 2020, where the two sides discussed strengthening their cooperation in several fields related to both sides. The two parties agreed to put together a plan to exchange expertise and services.
Based on the importance of joining efforts, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Mohammad Alraisi, Director General of the National Archives, received the Dubai Expo 2020 delegation headed by Mr. Najeeb Mohammed Al Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau. Both parties discussed means of strengthening ties between them. During the meeting, the delegation reviewed their latest preparations for the country's major event. The National Archives expressed its willingness to collaborate and to provide anything needed such as historical documents and documentary films that will provide pages of the history of the country, the establishment of the Union and aspects of its deep-rooted heritage. The National Archives will provide material that ensures providing the perfect picture of the country for all attendees to ensure loyalty and belonging to the homeland, and instilling national identity in the hearts of the people of the UAE.
The guests were briefed on the role of the National Archives in preserving historical documents and records, and the extent of its dependence on modern and advanced technologies, due to its advanced position among similar international centers, and the services it provides to researchers, as well as its publications that document important aspects of the history of the UAE.
Members of the delegation toured Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan’s Hall, where they were briefed on its collections, which highlight the stages of the establishment of the Union, and the efforts made by the Founding Fathers to make the Union a success. The delegation also viewed historic collections and NA Publication.
In Sheikh Muhammed Bin Zayed Virtual Reality Hall, the guests watched a 3-D documentary film about the past and present of the UAE, the National Archives and its role in preserving the Nation’s memory, presenting the history and heritage of the UAE and the Gulf area.
