This book consisting of 3-chapters was issued to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of the Federation of the UAE. It aims to acquaint readers with the tremendous efforts that helped translate the concept of federation into reality.
Based on official records, this work documents the different phases of the federation and is meant to be a reference study for researchers interested in this critical period of the history of the UAE in particular, and the Arab Nation in general. Chapter one deals with the historical initiatives and a general view of the constitution of the new state, while Chapter two shows the efforts made to stabilize its status within the Arab, Islamic and international arenas. The final chapter presents the most important accomplishments of the federal government in its first year in the fields of legislature, administration and development.
