The National Library and Archives signs a memorandum of understanding with Trends aimed at strengthening cooperation
The National Library and Archives (NLA) and the Trends Research and Advisory Center have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening their strategic relationships, enhancing collaboration in scientific and research fields, and exchanging experts, successful experiences and scientific publications as well as areas of common interest which lead to achieving goals that serve the strategy of both sides.
The MOU was signed by H.E. Abdulla Majed Al Ali, Acting Director General, on behalf of the National Library and Archives, and H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO, on behalf of Trends Center in the presence of several department directors and officials from both institutions.
H.E. Abdulla Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Library and Archives said that this MOU strengthens the existing links between the two parties and establishes distinct future relations, especially as we look forward in the next phase to establishing the National Library to be an edifice, a national landmark and a cultural illumination center. He added that the NLA is certain that the publications and research of the Trends Centre will enrich the library, and that constructive cooperation with Trends is essential and of mutual benefit.
His Excellency stressed the MOU’s importance because of both sides’ interest in scientific research, as the NLA puts the historical and heritage scientific research of the UAE and the Gulf region at the forefront of its priorities and pursues the preservation of the memory of the nation for posterity. He added that joint scientific research on common issues and topics will be of more scientific value and benefit.
His Excellency thanked the management of the Trends Center and all concerned for the good cultural cooperation and coordination to sign this memorandum, which is in the interest of both sides. He also praised the unique and extensive research published in Trends’ books and periodicals. He pointed out the need to implement the MOU’s terms in the framework of exchanging all forms of publications and conducting joint scientific and research activities including conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops.
H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Trends Center, said that signing this memorandum with the NLA will further regulate our relationships, adding that both parties need this cooperation, which will enrich the research experiences and fields with successful experiences.
His Excellency thanked the National Library and Archives for its constructive efforts in preserving the memory of the nation, and for its historical publications and scientific research. He also stressed the importance the of team spirit between the two sides to achieve scientific integration that results in innovative and distinguished scientific research.
The memorandum provides for more areas of cooperation such as conducting joint research, organizing research activities, issuing publications and research reports, supporting research collaboration, strengthening networks that communicate with local and international partners, exchanging ideas and perspectives on issues of interest to both parties, benefiting from each other's relations with the media, and conducting any other type of research cooperation that serves the objectives of both parties and is consistent with this MOU.
